Why the wording can be confusing

Renault’s guidance explains that certain filter saturation warnings may be accompanied by a Check Injection message. That does not prove the injectors need replacing, and it does not confirm every vehicle with that message needs DPF cleaning. The cause must be established.

Early filter warnings and more serious alerts

The response depends on the warning shown and your exact model. Follow its handbook. If a STOP warning or engine failure risk message appears, stop safely, switch off and arrange assistance. Do not continue driving in an attempt to clear the DPF.

Send your registration, mileage, postcode and a photograph of the dashboard. Tell us whether your Trafic, Master, Mégane or other Renault has lost power, whether the message is intermittent and what repairs or cleaning have already been carried out.

If soot build-up is restricting a suitable DPF, cleaning while it remains fitted can reduce dismantling and downtime. We diagnose the underlying fault and explain the next steps. Clearing the message alone does not address a condition that keeps preventing regeneration.
