What does the additive do?

On equipped vehicles, an additive is dosed into the diesel from a separate supply. It helps lower the temperature at which trapped soot burns during DPF regeneration. The reservoir or pouch and refill requirements vary by vehicle.

What happens during a top-up appointment?

We confirm the equipment and fluid requirements for your vehicle, carry out the agreed top-up and perform relevant system resets where required. A persistent warning or a fault with the dosing system may need further investigation alongside the refill.

Will a refill clean a blocked DPF?

Replenishing the additive supply and cleaning a soot-restricted filter are different tasks. If regeneration has been affected, the DPF may also need assessment. We explain whether a top-up, further fault investigation or suitable on-vehicle DPF cleaning is appropriate.

What information should you send?

Include your registration, mileage, postcode and a photograph of the message. Tell us whether the additive has been replenished before and whether there are other warning lights or reduced power. This helps us plan the right appointment and avoid confusing the job with an AdBlue top-up.
