Brake Repairs in Kent: Noises, Vibration & Warning Signs

PEARLS VEHICLE SERVICES · 3 NOVEMBER 2026

Squealing, grinding or a change in brake feel deserves attention. A brake inspection can establish what needs work, whether the symptoms come from wear or another problem in the braking system.

Noises do not all mean the same thing

Tell us whether the noise occurs only while braking, when reversing or all the time. A squeal alone does not identify the repair, while grinding may indicate a more serious problem. The components need inspection rather than replacement based only on a sound description.

Vibration through the pedal or steering wheel

If vibration occurs while braking, describe the speed and conditions in which you notice it. Discs, pads and related components may need assessment. Vibration has several possible causes, so it should not automatically be described as a warped disc without checks.

Why we look at pads and discs together

The condition of the braking surfaces and remaining material help determine the appropriate repair. Related components can also affect how the brakes operate. We explain the findings and quote the work required for your vehicle, rather than assuming pads alone will resolve every issue.

Warning lights and changes in braking

A dashboard warning or a pedal that feels different should be reported when booking. If braking is seriously reduced, the pedal sinks unexpectedly or the vehicle feels unsafe, stop somewhere safe and arrange assistance. Do not drive it to an appointment to find out whether it improves.

Arranging a brake inspection

Send your registration, postcode and symptoms, plus any recent inspection findings. Mobile brake work is available where the repair and location are suitable, with workshop support in Teynham, near Sittingbourne, for jobs that need it.
